LGBT (?)
Is that too
late if I’m going to speak up about LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Biseksual, Transgender) right now?
Nah, who the
hell would care… this is my blog, this is my only side where I can write
anything, right?! HAHA so let me speak up a little bit more about this trending
issue like months ago. Months ago??!! I know this is too late, but please, let me! Okay? :)
Well, first of all I always consider myself as a person who has religion. Yup, because here
in Indonesia, every people should have their own belief in one religion—out of
five big religions that have been legitimate by this country. And as long as I
know, from religion’s view, the existence of LGBT people are consider as a bad
“condition” in society. Even these religions tend to admit that LGBT people are
a sinner who broke God’s actual creation of men and women only. This fact has
had pros and cons between these days generation. Some people who call
themselves still “stick” in their beliefs tend to give no tolerant attitude
against LGBT; and some people who call themselves as the “modern” one tend to
be more tolerant. No doubt, there’s always a gap between who stand against whom.
For me, it
is true that what LGBT people are doing is not right (according to a part of me
who stick in what I believe). But, the point here I’m about to make is, I don’t
want those LGBT people to be ignored just because they’ve done something wrong
(according to a part of me as a person—sort of “modern” humankind haha).
Because until now I don’t see what they are doing will harm another people. I
mean, I know all the extreme religious people will tend to curse what they’ve
done because it is not right in God’s eye and they think that LGBT people
deserve to be punished in the deepest part of the hell (pardon my language).
But, COME ON, who are you people that you really want to ignore your own mankind??
All of you are proudly say that you have religion. You worship God and believe
in religion that teaches you what is right and what is not right. But does your
religion teach you to ignore somebody and reject them like they’ve done something
unforgivable? Is this kind of rejection still considered as the right way to do
against LGBT people?
Based on
what I believe in my religion, even my God forgive an adulterer. It means in
some way, HE teaches me not to reject people who have gone into a wrong path. I
mean, who are we can judge their life? Who are we can say that they’ve gone
into a wrong path? Still, only God knows about the end of their lives. We don’t
have any rights to reject LGBT people. We don’t have any rights to just ignore
their existence in our society. And most of all, we cannot blame them as what
they’ve chose. I mean, I’m sure there are several reasons what makes them
become what they are now. So what should we worry about, huh?
Since now
on, even I am still believed in my religion, I cannot reject LGBT people.
Though I’m sure at first it must be really really hard for us to accept them as
who they are, but I’m also sure that when we try to little bit more open and
give them a break, everything will going just fine. We need to realize that in
some ways, we still have to share our love to those people so that they still
feel the love of us—people who believe that God will forgive them. By that,
they will not see us as a hypocritical religious people. And by not rejecting
LGBT people, I think, there’s nothing wrong with it.
P.S. Share love no matter what :D
